Devilman Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 This a ol' rivalry between two former 10th region opponents that I'm sure they both will bring their best game whenever they meet each other. Comments?
mcpapa Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Should be a close, hard-hitting game as usual. Mason County needs much better line play, can't seem to open holes on offense and aren't getting any pressure on the opposing QB. Much as I hate to, I have to give the edge to the Panthers - on their home field and they had an off week. Fleming County 27, Mason County 17

If work doesn't keep me from going.
HoopsCrazie Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 By the way Russ Middleton quit the football team.
Butterfly Baby Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 By the way Russ Middleton quit the football team. That will solve the QB controversy
colonelfan2001 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Should be a great atmosphere for high school football.
Butterfly Baby Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I would assume the place will be packed. It always is for this game
mhighfield Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 By the way Russ Middleton quit the football team. He was outplayed friday nite anyway and probally would have lost his starting spot to Ritchie .But id hope he didnt quit on his team for that reason. He would have still got minutes.
ragin royal 80 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Lookin good this week lots of enthusiasim from the guys, like any week before the Fleming game. Ritchie Cox is a great Junior leader at quarterback, seniors have especially stepped up this week for one more shot at the panthers. and wish russ the best of luck and hope he made the right decision for him. Mason-28 Fleming-0

Mason-28 Fleming-0 I'd love it, but I haven't seen anything from Mason County yet to indicate that they can a) shut anyone out; Montgomery County put 20 on the board, missed a 2-point conversion and was on the 5 or 6 yard line as time ran out; or b) beat anyone by 28 points. Maybe they'll prove you right and me wrong, but I can't believe a shutout at Fleming County at this point. Three years ago with Grutza, Lofton and company, sure, but not this year.
mcpapa Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I know there are a lot of "marquee games" on any given weekend, but in the words of Keith Jackson, this should be a "good ol' good one." Regardless of talent level, this is typically a hard-hitting, intense rivalry game in any year.
mhighfield Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Mason wins it 20-13. Go Royals beat Panthers!
KFBFAN Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Will be a good game, but both teams have only average talent this year.
