Is There a Song From Yesteryear That Really Speaks To You Now ???

Wow... that's all too real isn't it?

Life is so much more of a faster trip than a small child can realize, and the older we get it just seems to speed up.

I recall listening and reading the lyrics to Time very intently at 10 (and that doesn't even feel that long ago) and feeling the melancholy of its mood and message, and it's probably one of the most influential songs to have shaped my life.

Probably too heavy for me to be pondering at that age, but nonetheless I did, and no doubt I can point to it as setting me on a course of being analytical, and even all too often a moody isolationist.

Every minute counts, and I struggle with how many of those minutes I have wasted. Wasted or not, they go by and I can only hope that when I'm seeing my last one that I can appreciate the life I've had and feel contented.

Knowing that you are a long time listener of the Floyd, I can only imagine that you too recognize the effect they've had on your thinking and your moods. I don't regret it, but at times I envy those who can live blissfully without pondering too deeply. Thinking can sometimes have its drawbacks, but once you're a thinker, there's no reversing it.

If life were fair, cool hippie dudes like David Gilmore would stay young forever. If that picture is freaky to us, just imagine what he might think of it. Just the other night a buddy of mine pulled out a photo of me that he had taken nearly 30 years ago. Blew my mind.

Perfectly put! No way I could have said it better! :thumb:
