High school Football in the EAST has been coming on strong the last couple years! Pikeville Bringing the 1A title back to the mountains in 2015 and the powerful play of the Belfry Pirates continue in 3A! Johnson Central playing in the 4A state title game with a threat to return in 2016 gunning for their First State Title! 1A, 3A and 4A appear to have a STRONG possibility of being Mountain State Titles in 2016!

1A: I think Paintsville has a very strong shot at the 1A Title. Raceland, Pikeville, and Hazard all have legit chances as well as that class is wide open.

 

2A: No real threat

 

3A: I would be surprised if the trophy doesn't end up in EKY. Belfry is the heavy favorite and Corbin is about the only other team I can even see winning it.

 

4A: If there was ever a year, it is this year for JC. This class is pretty open (especially compared to last year), but JC is a co-favorite.

 

5A: Noone's beating Bowling Green and I don't see a true EKY team that has a real chance.

 

6A: Nothin'

Belfry will win 3A, so they have the best chance

May depend on what time kickoffs are set! 1A and 4A are on Friday, 3A on Saturday.
