September 14, 201610 yr In this case, if the person tried to re-enter the house/apartment then he should have pulled the trigger. Not sure why the responding officers didn't try less than lethal force. Maybe a bean bag round? Why does everyone assume that every police officer carries a less lethal device that can fire a bean bag round.

September 14, 201610 yr We need some more info on this one. What I read was all from the fired officer's side. Could be some additional info.
September 14, 201610 yr Aren't those pretty much strictly used in crowd control situations? They are rarely used at all. I'd be surprised if more than 1-2 officers from the department this story is about has ever even trained with/fired one. I will say this, hoping to provide some perspective. Kentucky's DOCJ police academy is one of the highest accredited in the US. Even receiving international accreditation. The academy doesn't do anything regarding bean bag rounds or something similar.

He was a probationary officer and mentioned 2 other incidents but didn't bother to detail those incidents. It's easier for the writers agenda if the public just assumed the other two incidents were times in which he "didn't kill a man with an unloaded GUN"

I can't remember what one was, but the other was using vulgarity towards the wife of a guy he was arresting.
