September 4, 201610 yr It also helps to "produce" studs when you start with the best studs. You can breed the finest thoroughbreds in the world but you have to have a great trainer to win the Kentucky Derby. The horse needs the trainer and the trainer needs the horse. Same thing with college football.
September 6, 201610 yr Author If a team gets paid to come play another, nobody should be complaining about the score, regardless of what it is. You're getting paid to get beat down. :thumb: Get a huge pay check, take your embarrassment. This one was the equivalent of U.K., U.L. or Duke basketball having an obviously lesser team come in early in the season. Those "sacrifice" schools get a check that will go a long way in supporting their program for that season.

But when a true freshman comes in and starts, you are telling me Urban Developed him in the three weeks of training camp?

September 6, 201610 yr The only true freshman OSU is starting this year is Michael Jordan. Did Urban develop him into a starting guard as a true freshman? They have 7 true freshman in their depth chart on the first 2 teams. I am sure many of them got to play. Urban is a great coach but it takes talent first. He definitely knows how to use the talent. And he is better at recruiting that talent which is the most important thing.
September 6, 201610 yr Did Urban develop him into a starting guard as a true freshman? I believe so. He's been here all summer I think that's plenty of time to develop him enough to start at OSU with the talent he already has. But look at some of the other starters OSU has and how much they have developed. Especially Malik Hooker. Guy was only a 3 star coming out of HS and now looks like a monster out there.

Considering only 2 hours a week are allowed to be used in the summer for football related stuff if he was enrolled in classes, I don't think he was developed. No doubt though, it is probably a mixture of both, great talent and coaching.
