Generals went for 338 total yards, with 303 coming on the ground on 33 carries. Tyler Wimpsett (3TDs), Chase Howard (2TDs) and Christopher Medley (1TD) all rushed for at least 70 yards.

 

Nelson Co. mustered just 158 yards. TNHS defense had nine stops for losses or no gain.

They went winless in 2005 under Bill Mason. This year's squad is going to face some struggles. There's just very little varsity experience returning from last year, and NC hired Thornsberry too late for him to get a chance to install his offensive changes in time for the season. They'll get better as the season goes along and have a much better chance at being competitive once all these young guys get more varsity PT.
