The Wildcats look to get off to a fast start as they host out of state Portland (TN). Franklin-Simpson has opened six of their last eight campaigns with a win, including last year's tighter than expected 23-14 result against Portland. The 2015 year was a bit uneven, and for some, the Wildcats did not deliver on their potential, despite two decent efforts against juggernaut South Warren and a region runner-up finish. They return an experienced unit that will look to establish early as a legitimate challenger in 4A. Will they roll up the team from the Volunteer state?

FS offense looked good in the scrimmage at Muhlenberg Co. Don't know much about Portland this year, but unless they have had a big increase in talent, I don't think FS will have much trouble against the Panthers. I'll guess FS 35-14.
