An past district rivalry gets another chapter. This is one of the more interesting matchups this opening week in the 1A top 10. There are a lot of question marks around both of these teams. Paris lost a lot and needs a good showing to prove they still have talent following last year's key graduations. Frankfort is trying to get back to their top 5 1A status. What should we expect to see in this battle? Who are the key players to watch on both teams? We need a full scouting report and predictions on this key opening game.

Frankfort is loaded with some very talented skill kids. Only issue these same skill kids lack varsity game reps. If Frankfort oline can gel and get movement the Panthers can have a big day.

I think it'll be close just like last years, I have much respect for Coach Foley and his program.

Paris is a bit of a mystery. I would like to hear what to expect from them. Who is theIr offensive threat? Who are their top players?

VOR they are still trying to figure that out. But they have just as much skill as they had couple of years ago. Tremaine Jones and Simone Bond should handle most of the work load early.

Their QB Aaron Maggard is probably their best "football player" hard nosed kid, they have a nice Athletic WR in Jekobi Wells, but those are the main threats, have some nice young RBs, but not much of a line to block for them IMO. Defense is where they will hurt the most, and might take a few games to adjust.

Word is Maggard was injured in scrimmage against Mason and out this week

This is one of the oldest rivalries in Class A football. These teams have been playing each other since they started football. Both programs have a lot of respect for one another. This game means a lot to the old guys that hang around the programs.

Since 2005 they have played 9 times with Frankfort winning 8 of those. Last season was Paris first win over Frankfort since 1998. Since 2005 Frankfort has out scored Paris 384-47.

The Quarterback that started the game was sitting with an ice pack on his shoulder at the end of the first quarter/beginning of the second quarter, and maybe the best receiver was down at the end of the third quarter.

FHS has a nice roster of kids transplanted from other schools, 4-5 kids from FCHS, 2-3 from Hills, and this new Scott county connection the last few years, they will have a nice team, not one star like years past which I think makes them better. Good luck Panthers.

I could be over stating but it also may be more than you think, Bond-Scott County, Brownlee, Hammons, Mitchell, Jones,-all played football at EMS or FCHS, Bowen has been enrolled in FCHS and was out for football at one time there. Mays played for Western Hills. These kids have been great additions to FHS and will provide a lot of depth that may have not existed on the small roster.
