I love it. I am a 3rd generation Raceland Alum, football player, and resident of Worthington. Very proud of it. My children will be the 4th generation of each as well. Something very unique about the school system. Originally two seperate elementary schools until they merged, I believe in the 70s? Maybe Rambler or Ram could give me a definite year. But the two communities have nearly always been one. Tied together by two things, a high school and the Railroad. Love seeing them both being paid respect in a very neat way. Those tracks have always been the boarder between the two towns, but never a wall. So many family names, pillars of the community, relied on the railroad. The Walkers have had several grace the tracks as well as the high schools, Ive said it once but I will say it again. There is something so special to me about a community, that can be so wrapped up in a football program, one that has never won a state championship, never seen a shot at playing a for a title, just won their first regional titles a few years ago. From the outside looking in, it may seem crazy, may seem unrealistic, or over the top to some, but its what and who we are, but I am so glad to have been apart of it and my kids to do the same.
