July 14, 201610 yr Anyone else going up to the match at Crew Stadium on Wednesday, July 27th, at 7:30? Even though we won't see CR7, my son and I are super excited. I'm a PSG fan and will be rocking a Pastore jersey...my son will be all-in for Real Madrid. Should make for a fun car ride home.
July 15, 201610 yr Author Ha, just looked at my tickets, the game is actually in the Horseshoe. Very cool. Glad I checked my ducats.
July 19, 201610 yr Author I have to say, I'm intrigued by the lack of interest / conversation / attendance (of BGP'ers, the crowd will dwarf that of Nippert on Saturday [as of July 12th there were nearly 70,000 tickets sold]) of this game in light of people fawning over a lower-tier EPL team (Crystal Palace) playing a USL team on Saturday. Interesting.

Interesting. I have no interest but I'm stunned at the number of people who pay good money to go watch a glorified practice. I couldn't care any less about PSG or Real Madrid. They've got enough money; they don't need mine. Support local soccer. Was that what you were looking for?

It would have been, if you had been one of the people fawning over the CPFC vs. FCC match this past Saturday. I am interested / intrigued by a match-up (practice or not) of two of the top clubs on Earth, but am not the least bit interested in watching two teams from vastly different levels play a friendly. FCC playing other USL teams is fine and not only am I a "supporter", but I also utilized my professional leverage to help the club as well. Checking the box of support local soccer.

As I hope you got from the goofy smiley, it was a smart aleck response. It does blow my mind that so many people are interested in these International Champions Cup matches but it's neither here nor there. Has PSG signed anyone to make up for the loss of Zlatan yet?
July 19, 201610 yr Arrrg! Had to leave the browser for a few, called it back up and all that I typed was gone. So, on that note, at times I see an "auto save" thing pop up on BGP as I'm typing? Does that somehow get saved to were I can find it again? As I typed a lot and would rather not type it all again. :( But, as an FCC supporter, and new soccer fan, I'll support the local team, they are going way beyond being very open to everything as well as the club, including the ownership, especially Lindner, are always accessible to fans, it's like they are a friend, everyone and anyone can go up and chat a few minutes with Lindener. Can you ever see Mike Brown doing this? The FCC ownership treats all things FCC as if you are the ONE person they care about, they make all of the fans feel special. You have some of the top brass, including Berding, high fiving the supporter groups as they march to the Bailey. Any event that I go to I don't want to sit in the nose bleed seats, what does the Shoe fit? 100k? If they already have 70k sold, maybe people aren't wanting to sit way up in the top sections? Plus, there is something about Nippert that it seems like it was built for FCC. Maybe some of it has to do with the fact that SW Ohio basically ignores all sports OSU? I have a connection with Real Madrid and I am not even sure it I want to go, even with the chance at meeting Renaldo, now Messi would be different. But again, maybe it's that FCC is the local team.
