Yes they are. only 6 of same kids are on this list that was on a similar list from 2 years ago.

congrats to the top 5 or 6 kids on the list who I have gotten to see this season. Those kids can really play. And congrats to all the others who play in highly competitive environments & tournaments and are judged against good competition rather than drills/skills competition or nominated by influential schools and coaches. some of the 'end of the list' kids play difficult schedules and will be better because of it. Hard to judge whether a kid is any good when he dominates low level competition, but struggles every time he faces good teams.

 

check back in a couple years and see where these kids are. interesting to see some of the other "lists" from a few years ago with the 2018 & 2017 kids.

This list will change many times in the next 4 years including the top 5. I've seen all these boys play like superstars at times and other times not so good. It's all gonna come down to who works harder

any info on the HS and summer teams for each of the kids on the list? I don't recognize any of the kids' names except Jefferson, Fraley, and Tisdale. But I thought Tisdale was a football kid. I think Jefferson and Mayer are 9th region kids, but what about some of the rest.

I'm not really sure what you're saying.

 

There are two kids in the top10 that don't play club level ball and don't go to camps etc. One of which averaged a double figures at the varsity level as an 8th grader from the low post. While others in the top 10 are playing against a multitude of different level opponents from the 8th grade~JV level. Then there's Justin Powell who played Varsity and plays at the highest National Level for The Atlanta Celtics. He hasn't even played club level ball in the state of KY since he was in the 6th grade.

 

All of these kids are all facing a diverse level of opponents.

 

As I look at the bottom in the Receiving votes list. I see a kid that is a 1 or 2 guard may never be taller than 5'10" and barely made the "7~9th" Allstar game in last weeks Rick Bolus camp. Yet the the 6'4" 180 pound Freshman MVP is not even listed. Likewise, there's another 2020 kid low post kid that recently made an Allstar in the high school division of an exposure camp..... Also not listed.

 

Basically what this means is...

 

The list is good for the kids that got the exposure. But, that's about it. I commend the list for being pretty accurate for the most part. There are probably another 20 kids in the state worthy of being on the list. But, the kids that are on the list are all pretty good players.

Are there some people who (still) think Mayer plays freshman ball this year?

 

Kid is a very, very good player on his way to being a great player. Having watched both I think he is a more natural player with more upside than his older brother.

Just curious but witch kids have u seen play on this list and there comp level they played. Who shouldn't be on this list because they got on with drills and skills. I'm just asking for your opinion

I have seen everybody on this list play except for two kids and from what I hear from folks that know the game they can play. The other kids I have seen play anywhere from 4-400 games. Lol. They all can play. My opnion is its a pretty good list from the kids I have seen. I have not seen every kid in ky play. There are like somebody said many others that are good enough to be there. As far as this type list goes I think it's pretty good. I think everybody that seen them all would probably have a little bit different order maybe but that's gets into preference not a whole lot difference at this point in a lot of those kids. All can kill you if your other team.

Matthew Taylor is the brother of Andrew Taylor from Corbin. Not seen Matthew this summer. Andrew is with hoop dreams I would assume Matthew was too.
