Logan County 2016

Featured Replies

What does Logan County need to do to improve in 2016? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

The Logan County Cougars have not won 1 game since the 2012 season. That's 3 years in a row without 1 win. After glancing at their proposed schedule on the riherds site, conventional wisdom doesn't look good except for the game against Hopkins County Central. Logan County lost 13-12 last year at HCC.

HS Football is a demanding sport to play for kids at a that age range and to be going into your suspected senior year without 1 win; man that's tough.

I will be pulling for Logan County on Sept 23 vs. HCC!

What does Logan County need to do to improve in 2016?

1. Supporters should pray (a lot).

2. Coaches should quit trying to control youth football (k-6). Leave it to the guys/gals that have the energy and experience. You have your hands full--33-game losing streak! High/middle school coaches who haven't even taught the offensive line any blocking calls shouldn't be worried about what plays a 3/4 grade team is running, IMO. Also the coaches could stand to be more supportive of "average" players. It's easy to support MVPs and All-Stars but you don't have enough of those to win in football, so stop being a tough guy drill sergeant and start being thankful some parents let their kids play at a school with a 33-game-losing-streak.

3. School system administrators should quit hiring a new coach every year or two. It does no good to hire a new coach when you keep the same assistants, etc. around the coach. Fire them all! Tell the old boosters you don't need their help anymore too. "Changing the face of a failing restaurant does nothing, you got to get in there and clean out them grease traps."

Very insightful for those reading from afar. I think there is likely a lot of truth here, but moreso to underline the fragile framework of a program on a 33 game losing streak.

Everyone not playing Adler wishes him all the best in the world. No one wants Logan County to continue losing every game they play.

I usally just get on here to read about whats going on in the sports world, but after seeing this nonsense I had to post.

Well you and your team don't have the cougars on the schedule, so obviously you are not wishing them the best. We haven't seen "Adler" in action and until we do no one should be bashing him, the staff, or the program as a whole. We all know what kind of shape its in.

Who made you GURU of high school football, if I recall we went to school together and you never played yourself? Just keep being you and worrying about your team and celebrating 2nd place trophies when there are only 2 teams in the tourney you are playing in.

The cougars have had it rough enough over the past 3 to 4 years. They don't need anyone telling them that, pretty sure that is a visible statement everyone could see. Especially coming from someone who lives in this county.

I do know the cougars have some guys coming out to play that should help them this year, how much is yet to be seen. But if they were to win don't come on here talking about congrats cougars on "breaking the streak". Your down on them now and season hasn't even began yet.

Keep the comments on the team.

I said this in Post #2 and I am sticking with it.

I didn't realize it was so volatile in Logan County.
