Conner senior Olivia Panelia won both the long jump and triple jump qualifying for state in those events. She also anchored the Conner girls in the 4x200m that they won and the 4x100m where they finished 2nd to Ryle. Congratulations to these Conner girls as they represent northern Ky next weekend in Lexington.

Here are all the results, girls and boys. Congratulations to all the young women and men who will represent northern Ky. next weekend at the state meet.

Kentucky Outdoor Race Results

It was a little cool for a track meet in May. As @Content1 suggested, the boys 4x100 was a shootout.

Here's the results:

1. Dixie 43.93 seeded 6th at state

2. Boone 44.04 seeded 7th at state

3. Ryle 44.06 seeded 9th

4. Cooper 44.62 seeded 19th

5. Cov Cath 44.62 seeded 18th

Congratulations to all 5 relay teams who qualified for the state track meet.

Boys 4x200 results:

1. Cooper 1.31.26 seeded 9th at state

2. Ryle 1.31.80 seeded 12th

3. Boone 1.33.17 seeded 18th

Congratulations to the state qualifiers.

Boys 4x400 results:

1. Cooper 3.30.24 seeded 11th at state

2. Cov Cath 3.34.75 seeded 21st

3. Ryle 3.35.19 seeded 23rd

4. Boone 3.38.71

Congratulations to the top three finishers who qualified for state.

Just a word about Boone's relay performances on Saturday. The 4x100 posted their season's fastest time. The 4x200 relay team was disappointed in the result as there were issues with the hand-off on two legs. They can clean that up by Saturday. By the time the 4x400 relay rolled around Boone's squad was down two runners due to injury. The boys who filled in ran very well, no complaint there, but the combination did not produce their expected times going into the competition. In other meets the Boone 4x400 usually placed just behind Cooper. One of the injuries effects the 4x100 and 4x200 teams going to state. Hopefully, the young man will have time to heal so he can compete at the state meet. This injury also forced him to scratch from the Open 400 in which he was capable of placing at the Regional. He is a fine young man and it would be a shame for him to be unable to compete this coming Saturday.

I wish all the representatives from Region 5 AAA well in their performances at the state meet.

Don't complain too much that it was cool, at least it wasn't drenched. Region 4 2AA had a down pour, miserable evening in Falmouth, Ky. Highlands took Region Championship in both men's and 3Peat for women's programs.

Congrats to the Lady Raiders on their 3Peat!!. :)

Looks like 50% chance of Rain for state for all Classes, Good Luck!!

Can anyone share details about the Ryle runner who went down? I'm getting conflicting stories, but it sounds like the male athlete collapsed during the 4x800, but later returned to win the 1600. If so, nothing short of miraculous.

I understand if there are privacy issues. But if there is public information about what really happened, I would love to hear. Thanks.

Hope you are doing well OG and congrats to the Rebels. I made sure to congratulate them on the 400m relay finish and Rondell in the 100. A shame the headwinds on the front stretch dropped times 2-3/10s during the 100.

Looking forward to watching the young man from N. Hardin who clocked a 10.53 :walk: in the 100. It's his world and everyone else is living in it.

Really proud of Austin Stacy ( Dixie Heights ) who pulled a hamstring early in the season and rehabbed well to come back and not only qualified in the 100 and 200, provided solid senior leadership with Gunther Faeth in the 400m Relay. Congrats to the Colonels on winning the 400m relay and entering Saturday with a 6th best time in the state...

....and congrats to Ryle on the team sweep. The Raiders have an impressive group of athletes. Way to be Matt Froschauer who will represent NKY well in both hurdle events, the 200, and I believe the 4x200 relay.

NKY has the potential to have a very good state meet. Best wishes and continued success athletes on PRs and just simply being mindful and enjoying UKs atmosphere. It's a well run event and a state of the art facility.

Safe travels and have fun folks!!! :thumb:

He actually fell when turning to look back at the 2nd place CovCath runner. He was able to get up but fell twice again before he crossed the finish line in time to finish 2nd. He did stay down a long time but apparently he recovered enough to run the longer event later in which he looked fine.

His legs appeared to give out, like he had exerted himself too much early and couldn't control them at the end. That's why he fell twice. He managed to cross the finish line in second place any way. Then went on to win the open 1600m and open 3200m.

He probably wouldn't have fallen had he not looked over his shoulder to see where the closest runner was to him. When he did that I think he got out of synch and as you stated his legs gave out.
