1st Region POY

Featured Replies

I have watched several games in the 1st region this year. There is some good players out there but not sure who the dominant seniors would be. I would say the talent overall in the region is down. Do you go with a senior from McCracken just because they are the best team or do you go with the best player?

Who wins 1st Region POY? or what is the short list of potentials?

Probably someone from McCracken will win it, not sure on their stats. A player that should have as good of a chance of winning as anyone would be Tanner Foster from Murray but since he isn't going to play college ball not sure if that will hurt him.

So everyone seems to be on the same page as I am, not a true front runner.

I guess you could take the best player from every team and put them all in a hat and draw out the winner.

Not real clear Big Blue on your statement about, ( going with a senior from McCracken Co just because they are the best team or you go with the best player). But I'll throw a few names out there.

Adison Wildharber Ballard Co

Ian Walters McCracken Co

Lane Kennermore Mayfield

Travis Crouch Paducah Tilghman

Cody Clark Marshall Co

Lots of quality baseball Seniors out there in the 1st Region, but dominant ??? As far as POY, whoever gets it, pray its not just about stats. Leadership, character, solid team mate.

That's a good list but with Walters playing on the best team, he will probably win it. Wildharber and Kennemore both played for bad teams so I think that hurts them. No one from the 1st or 3rd district will have a chance to win it. All of the teams aren't very good.

I went and put who I thought was the best player from each team.

McCracken County Walters

Paducah Tilghman Travis Crouch

Carlisle County Weatherspoon

Graves County Naranjo or Gough

Ballard Memorial Wildharbor

Mayfield Kennemore

St. Mary McCauley

Calloway County Pigg

Murray Foster or Nelson

Marshall County Clark

What do you think?

I misinterpreted your first thread. Thinking you where asking for Seniors for POY. My bad. Your list is a good one as well. Could easily and 4 or 5 kids to your list if your talking all of Region 1. Guess we'll see starting Monday who steps up and stands out.

McCracken Co pitcher Caleb Reinhardt has been outstanding. Got the start against several of the Mustangs' tougher opponents. Wins include: St. Xavier, North Bullitt, Christian Co, Tilghman (twice), Henderson Co, and Hopkinsville (w/ McGee). Unofficial record 9-1.

Lane Kennemore

Congrats to Mr. Kennemore!! As well, to the entire Cardinal team and coach Richard Collins.

Congrats to Lane, well deserved.

Looks like Mayfield made a good hire in Collins.

You got to love High School sports ! Congrats to the Mayfield High School baseball team for making it to the championship game of the 1st Region.

Word is that baseball has a renewed interest with the kids for next year at Mayfield! Way to go Cards!

Word is that baseball has lost interest across town; unless you are a basketball player Mayfield sounds to be more promising.
