Several USL and NASL teams (and one from the USASA) lost in extra time or on penalties.

July 21, 201610 yr Author Last non-MLS squad is out in the quarters. Chicago Fire handled the NASL's Fort Lauderdale Strikers 3-0 to advance to an August 10 semifinal against the New England Revolution. LA Galaxy will play FC Dallas in the other semifinal. Chicago Fire are all in on this thing as it's the only chance they'll have to get the supporters to show up to watch that lousy team. They're just terrible on the weekend so they're going full bore to try and get to the final.
