I think ETP needs his own classification.

The story goes......already 3-3 in the game, Earl lined a single up the middle, but the umpire called an illegal pitch. On the next pitch "the Pearl" laces a double and proclaims he was 2 for 1 during the at bat....thus he was 5 for 4.

 

BTW, Earl lives on my FedEx route, always comes to the door with a softball tourney shirt on. The best is his telling of his 30,000th career hit. LOL

I seem to remember him having over 1,800 in a tournament we played in at Township Tavern.... it was a 4 day weekend.
