NHL NY Islanders/Florida Series

This first game has been awesome. 5-4 Isles with 12 minutes to play and Florida on the power play.

 

John Tavares has been unstoppable tonight, finding space wherever he wants it. A goal and two assists so far for NY.

Florida 3 NY Islanders 1

 

The Islanders made a game of it with 3:33 to go as their goalie, Greiss, left the ice and the sixth player game on, John Tavares scored. However, when Greiss was pulled again with a minute to go, Dmitry Kulikov dumped the puck on down the ice and into the empty net for the Panthers.

 

The series is tied 1-1.

 

Game 3 is in Brooklyn at 8 PM, Sunday. TV: NBCSN, SN, MSG+, FS-F

John Tavares scored with 9:19 left in the second overtime to seal the series with a 2-1 win over the Panthers in Brooklyn.

 

The semifinals are set in the East, Penguins/Capitals and Islanders/Lightning.
