Beshear former Cabinet head charged with corruption

Former state personnel chief charged with bribery | Lexington Herald-Leader

He was Steve's #2 and then the #2 for Steve's son Andy. Are we suppose to believe neither had any idea ?

My sources fairly close to the former Gov's office tell me neither Gov or Gov Jr. had a clue this was going on, and that Jr. was totally taken aback when he finally did find out about the investigation and subsequent arrest. I would have to think that any politician with any common sense at all would not have kept or put this guy on their cabinet/high-ranking position in their administration if they had an indication this was going on. But then again, we are talking about politicians, so...:idunno:

It will be interesting how this plays out. To keep this corruption up for so long tells me there had to be other officials involved . If it wasn't Beshear I expect some other people around him to fall.

Kentucky politicians at that. Corruption abounds in a state like ours.

I would be shocked if either one new anything about it.

Oversight was not the last administration's strong suit.

So they were just bad executives or at least Steve was it seems. 4+ years and you don't see that your #2 is corrupt ?

I've known two outstanding executives who were blindsided by corruption in their top people. Their organizations were small, not a state government. Easy to happen as these crooks don't exactly advertise their crimes.
