I don't know about the 9th and 10th but as far as Highlands being the best in the 8th is crazy. Highlands is no where near the team that Anderson, Oldham County and Collins are. I would say that was proven in E-town.

 

I'll give you the scores from Etown weren't attractive, but keep in mind HHS was down there without their third basemen (which cost them on more than one occasion in all the games) and Graybill the Louisville commit only played in one game because her knees swelled on her. AND their pitcher pitched the entire weekend with full blown flu. No excuses for the losses, but that was not the same team they put on the field all the time. So have at it, but they will be ready when it matters.

I understand that you are frustrated with your team not playing well in E-town against some of the best in the state but to throw this all back on sickness and swollen knees is absurd. I don't think if Highlands had 3 more Louisville commits that they could've won a game in that competition.

You have your opinion and I have mine. But you seem like a score watcher. Were you there? I think I'm a little closer to my team than you and what I saw lets me know we'll be just fine when it counts. What I'm stating are facts. Not fiction. Take any team and remove their D1 commit, their starting infielder and a pitcher at half speed (you say illness and I know it was not eating for two straight days and throwing up 4 times on the way down to Etown that Friday) and tell me that what you see as the product on the field is the best they have and I will tell you that's silly. The scores look bad but when you have kids playing out of position and your pitcher is asked to just throw strikes, your game is going to suffer a a little and against good teams, that gets exaggerated. But I'm sure you know more about our team than I!

Ok Anderson had just gotten back a week prior to this tournament there pitcher, first baseman, second baseman and center fielder from basketball. They where down to only one pitcher because the other one is hurt. The catcher was fighting the nasty stomach bug. Oh so that leaves the right fielder which is the only other girl with any varsity experience because the third baseman, short stop and left fielder where all freshman and have never played an inning of a varsity game. Also this was the first game for these girls besides a 5 inning scrimmage that wasn't much of a contest and maybe three practices of even being outside on the field due to the weather. So I do think that the two teams where pretty evenly matched with basketball, injury and illness but not in talent. Hope to see you in Owensboro
