Anyone have some thoughts on this one? Best team in the state (per some rankings) doing battle with a solid Conner squad.

 

I'm very biased (Conner grad) and while my heart says Conner wins, my head knows otherwise. I am truly hoping for a game similar to the one last night vs the Cru, and not one resembling what CCH did to Newport.

I said this in the CCH/Newport game thread, so I'll just repeat it here...

 

Conner is a pretty decent team. They seem quite driven and as they showed last night can score in spurts and never gave up no matter what. It would be foolish of the Colonels to think just because they killed them the first time around that this Cougar team isn't coming to play and to try like hell to make a game of it. Sure the Colonels are tuff, but I'm seeing a closer game here than most seem to be anticipating. Wouldn't surprise me if it turned into one for the ages.

I couldn't agree more with what you're saying, and I'm hoping it is one for the ages. This Conner team is fun to watch.

Early afternoon game on a Sunday, maybe a little different feel for all involved. Obviously important for any underdog, but Conner must get off to a good 1st qtr. start. My pick . . . Colonels by 13.

I think if Conner comes out strong, and gets Kyler Padgett and Travis Connley involved they have a good shot to beat the Colonels.
