Are there any 6th or 7th region games that might be good?

Haven't seen much about 6th or 7th region games on here, thought those two regions were pretty good.

LOL. I think I've seen a few in the polls...

Who's is left and when are the games?

If you want to see quality girls basketball today, come out to Valley High School. The girls 6th and 7th region has a number of heavy weights squaring off as part of a 4 game pack.

Game 1 (3:30) Sacred Heart #10 Vs Male #2

Game 2 (5:00) Eastern #11 Vs Manual #8

Game 3 (6:30) PRP Vs Mercy #5

Game 4 (8:15) Bullitt East #16 Vs Butler #1

Whoever ultimately survives these two regions will have earned their championship. Several really good teams will be disappointed today and Saturday as they are eliminated from State competition.

With the underlying theme that anything can happen in high school basketball, a couple of themes do emerge from the matchups.

* Hard to believe that Male is going to lose until they are beaten by someone other than Butler. With that said, Sacred Heart is capable of being that other team to beat Male. These two teams did not meet in the regular season.

* Eastern and Manual feels like a pickem game. Manual won the regular season game by 4.

* Mercy is a clear favorite with the two teams meeting for the first time this year. Clearly got the best draw in the 6th Region only having to play either Butler or BE in the final.

* Butler defeat BE way back in March by 20 points. That was along time ago and BE now has Duvall playing again. I believe Butler will prevail, but no surprise if BE finds a way to win.

Male too big for SHA (and most other teams).

Eastern-Manual winner will be whoever doesnt implode when things dont go well.

Mercy had hands full with North Bullitt, but does get what should be a "breather" tonight.

Butler-BE is my tossup game----Butler athletic---BE still riding the high of Duvall returning? Too close to call.

The first and last games of the day intrigue me the most.

I love the Male - SH matchup. Both are athletic, fundamentally sound teams. But they couldn't be more different in what they want to do. Even though Male should dominate the glass and in the paint... I'm putting my faith in Donna Moir and the shooting ability of the SH sophomores (39% from 3 on the season). I think they'll get hot and coach Moir will be able to make someone other than Green or Sexton score. And... since I'm making crazy predictions... we're gonna see at least 2 technical fouls called on Male's players/bench.

Bullitt East is playing really, really well right now. That being said, Butler is more talented and they've been there before. There will also be plenty of motivation since they lost to BE in the regional tourney last year. I think Butler wins in a close one.

Quite a comeback by Male.
