Owensboro-Mayfield Scrimmage

Featured Replies

OHS won the varsity part of the scrimmage 14-0. This was a defensive battle throughout and Owensboro had a couple of big plays to offset a very stingy Cardinal bunch at South Hopkins Middle School in Mortons Gap. OHS's scoring came first off of a defensive interception by Neil Johnston on a screen pass, and the second came off a 65 yard jaunt by senior running back Nick Hall. On the JV side OHS also won 14-0. The first came off a 50 yard TD pass by Nick Bush, and the second coming from the freshman team with Marcus Winstead taking a slot screen and going 60 yards for the score. I came away very impressed with both teams defenses. Needless to say both teams "D" are way ahead of the "O", but that is to be expected this time of year.

Anybody from Mayfield that was there know how OHS stacks up against Milan, TN?

Milan was a lot bigger but Owensboro was faster.

Milan was a lot bigger but Owensboro was faster.

Hoptown faster?

No, just faster than Milan.

was well disciplined on defense. It really hurts Mayfield's offense when Adam can't use his legs.

Did you see anything from the Murrell kid?

Owensboro is gonna b tuff!
