Whitlock On "Black Twitter" and BLM

Featured Replies

He makes some very good points.

I'd be inclined to take it more seriously if he made an actual argument instead of taking an absolutist position on a sprawling, controversial topic (in what, 500 words?) while caricaturizing all other opinions, including the intellects of Harris-Perry and Coates (which is especially rich considering the author). It's the sort of thing someone deeply saturated in the era of hot take, cable news "journalism" would effortlessly churn out: Take a rigid, ball-busting opinion on a controversial topic and wait for the clicks to roll in.

I thought Black Twitter just made fun of everyone and everything, including black people, from an unfiltered black perspective.

Never heard of the woman he is taking about.
