I get what he's saying, and frankly, the fear I feel about Trump getting elected has little to do with the man and more to do with the mindset of those who support him. In the event he is actually elected, people will be crushed that he can't flip a switch and make what he's promised happen overnight. And my fellow Americans will be even more angry, more afraid, and that is scarier than a President Trump. I am shocked at the level of vitriol with which the conversations here on BGP are delivered. I am wary now of people I once considered friends. I am avoiding voicing my opinion and I'm only a short step away from leaving BGP because of what I see now, and what it will inevitably be if Trump wins. When President Obama leaves, if Trump is is successor, I predict even a modest level of civility will not exist.

 

I can't live like that.

 

Don't leave BGP because of crazy people that can't respect others' opinions. Just leave the Politics forum, you'd be missed too much.

I'll add my voice to the others and hope you stick around. I've "left" before, largely for the same reasons, and I now end up skipping more posts than I read, so I understand where you are coming from, but it would seem now is the time for the civil and reasonable to join the discussions, not leave them.
