Dixie Heights has a new head coach this year , Coach Simmons !:thumb: I don't know much about him yet . If someone could help out on details . I heard he's from OHIO and he may have been at Ryle in the early years . Not sure . McCarthy the last two yr's and Snider before that . Most of the team was built or put together by Snider . He took the asst. principal job at Campbell Co. two yr's ago and could only help out . Snider ran the team ,but McCarthy was HC on paper. Snider then moved to South Car. before last year and after the season, McCarthy wasn't sure he could be the HC for this year ! The kids where starting to come out with Snider , but last year with no one at the school to talk with them, it hurt the team !:irked: Hopefully this year things pick back up for the team and they pull more kid's out !:thumb: And start the building process for a strong team !!!

I believe you are right. If im not mistaken he only coached at Scott for a year or two but i could be wrong.

What years 80's or 90's ? Do you know where after that Ky or Oh ? He had alittle talk with some of the football players that wrestle . They all liked what he had to say ! :thumb:

He was at Scott in 2000 until he was replaced by Clint Bell. He then went to Purcell-Marion and was there in 2004. I think this is the same Ken Simmons that was Wrestling Magazine's Ohio Man of the Year in 1992. Not sure about that though.

Ken Simmons was at Ryle for a couple of years where he got the program going in the right direction. From there Dave Madding and him switched positions, Ken went to Scott and Dave went to Ryle. Ken was at Scott for the 98-99 season as well as 99-00 season. From Scott he went to Anderson (OH), Covington Holy Cross, and then to Purcell Marian (OH) for the last two seasons (I may have Anderson and Holy Cross switched). Before Purcell he sparingly helped out at Conner as well as a volunteer coach.

Dixie is a good team. They always brought there all when I would watch them and even wrestle against them, what seniors or 'crazy-good' state contending underclassmen do they return?!

Steve Benson is the only I'm aware of. He wrestled 189 last year.

Ohh okay ! Thanks, I was wondering if Brad Denhem graduated? He was always a tough matchup for me.

I'm assuming Brad Denham will be back for his senior year. He finished 5th last year in a very tough 152 regional.

Dixie's 4 that made state or that have made state in the past . They have alot returning at the lower Weight's . So with that and the new coach starting to get things going now . It should be a good year for Dixie's team !:thumb:

Only Benson and Metzger made it to state in 2006. Metzger went two and out.
