Murray 47 Owen County 44 (All "A" State Semi-Finals)

Featured Replies

No use rehashing the game here a whole lot. Obviously, a tough loss for the Rebels.

Good luck to Murray tomorrow and beyond. Made some clutch plays tonight on both ends of the court. A couple of times, it seemed Owen was on the verge of taking control, and the Tigers responded every time. Could see them in Rupp in March, although I am not sure what competition they face in the 1st.

As for Owen Co...same thing applies regarding seeing them at Rupp in March. Get some more threes to fall than they had this week, they'll be fine. Murray just hit some crazy shots tonight, sometimes you just have to tip your cap and move on.

BTW, Carson is about the join his NKU teammate-to-be Drew McDonald as a three time All-A All Tournament honoree. Anyone else been on the All-Tourney team three times?

Was the pace of the game slow? Minimal free throws attempted.

It wasn't slow until the last three minutes. Murray went into a four corners offense in the last 2 1/2 minutes with the score tied at 44. Owen didnt possess the ball in the last 2 1/2 minutes.

As far as free throws attempted? Lets just say that it was officiated the way i would envision a rugby match would be. It was physical. Murray likes to drive the ball and has a Duke football signee in the paint. Owen has Carson. Both teams attempt around 20 free throws a game. But tonight, Murray attempted four and Owen attempted six.:idunno:

Games arent low scoring exclusively because of pace, games are low scoring mainly because officials refuse to clean up the physical play.

Has a boy/girl sweep happened before at All A or Sweet 16? If not, any close calls?

I was wondering the same thing.

Got a thread going about this......http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-boys-basketball/murray-has-chance-322018.html

UHA's Josh Mack was, winning MVP once.
