Sounds like you're going to need a 3rd party tool, but something is off. you should be able to extend that partition.

Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online - or something along these lines.

Have you tried diskpart from an elevated command prompt??

Not sure why I can't extend it, that's what has me stumped. Would using linux based GParted to create the partition prior to installing Windows cause that?

I will check out the software on the link you sent, will the free version work, in your opinion? I'll try the free version, but I don't really want to spend money for the other options unless I know it will work, lol.

I have only tried using GParted, to create the partition, then EasyBCD to attempt to dual boot Windows and openelec, which failed also due to the bios using UEFI. Once that failed I installed Kodi on windows and it ran smooth enough that I decided to scrap the dual boot idea. So then I tried to allocate the unallocated space I had partitioned for openelec to c:/ (windows). The only thing I have tried so far is disk management via windows, trying to partition from command prompts is probably over my head.

Thanks for the help though, I will definitely check out that software you linked.
