Have You Ever Been Audited by the IRS?

Any of you ever been audited? I am finishing up my first one ever right now and I'll admit that it's been one of the more miserable experiences of my entire life.

 

I work my butt off at two jobs to make ends meet and the IRS comes to shake me down. Meanwhile, Joe Blow down the road doesn't work at all and lives like a king with free handouts from the government.

I didnt think so, but I am an accounting guy so little more knowledge in what they were trying to look at than say the average person.

 

As long as you have your records in order, things should go well.

 

I actually ended up on the good side of all 4 audits, with them owing me more money. (I think thats why they stopped at 4)

Yep, you got it. I have all of my receipts but it's been a bear copying them all. The mileage is where I'm in trouble.
