IMO, if you have served your sentence/punishment and no longer on parole then you should voting rights back, no matter the crime.

What if you were 18 and she was 16 and daddy found out and had some clout so you were put on trial for statutory rape? Little princess didn't want to get cut off by daddy so she went along, now you're a sex offender.

I don't live in a black and white world I know the world is really grey. So I'm fine with making exceptions . But Men who prey on little boys and girls don't need to be in the decision making process of this country.

If you said 15 then you would have an interesting case, as for most people 16 is legal in the majority of states.

 

But I see your point. And as LB mentioned there are exceptions. But from what I read violent criminals and those who prey on the young are not included.

I just know this kind of thing does happen to people and it has always upset me.

I knew of someone two years ago, senior in high school, dating a girl who was also in the same high school who was a sophomore and claimed that she was 16, drove "her" car over to his place many times late at night, turns out she was 15. He eventually got out of it, but yes, these things do happen.

 

I few years back, I believe it was Kenton County, there was a boy about 13 or 14 who was sexing with a girl about the same age. If I remember they were saying that he was a sex offender, if so, how long does he stay on the list? IMO someone like that should also be exempt.
