How is the 13th region looking for 2007 and how will whitley co. fit in?

The Whitley Co Colonels have lost 7 seniors this year how will that affect their 2007 season and How will the 13th look for 2007?:sssh:

Unless someone pulls an upset, and I dont know a whole lot about the players South Laurel returns, I think Middlesboro will win this region rather easily. They didnt lose any seniors and have a ton of pitching.

South Laurel will be tough again. They lose some good ones in Riley and Philpot. However, they do return Kyle Cochis, Trey Smith, Logan Baker, Terry Bingham, & expect the return of Ty Proffitt after a 1 year hiatus to focus on basketball. They will be solid and probably the favorite to win the 13th IMHO.

North Laurel lost a lot. They lose one of the best (if not the best) pitcher in Ryan Sams, lose some power in Boroviak, lose good all around play from Howell and Mink. They do bring back Evans (solid pitcher), Maggard, the younger Howell, and some good young talent, but will not have the same level of experience they had in 2006.

Clay County won't have a whole lot. They will have 3 starters returning in Mobley, Nicholson, and Gray, but word is that one of those 3 won't be wearing a Tiger jersey next year. I would expect to see 1 or 2 freshman, and anywhere up to six 8th graders to see quality playing time. With only one senior in Mobley, and 0 juniors, I expect Clay County to take some tough losses with these young fellows, but in 2 years I think they are the team to beat in the region.

Corbin should be better next year as they return 7 starters, including the entire pitching staff minus one. The top of the region should be the following teams with 2-3 others with an outside shot.

1. South Laurel

2. Middlesboro

3. Corbin

Cawood should be much improved from last year. :thumb:

I don't see Whitley being a factor. They lost much of their pitching staff, and 7 seniors. They do have some good young talant but they will be really young.

1. South Laurel

2. North Laurel

3. Bell County

4. Middlesboro
