November 11, 201510 yr Sad to hear. Cardinals Hall of Famer Lou Brock loses part of leg to infection I had two jersey numbers that I alternated between, when I was growing up playing baseball. One was 8, because of Joe Morgan. The other was 20, because of Lou Brock. Absolutely hated the fact that his stolen base record was broken (and by Ricky Henderson, ugh!).

November 12, 201510 yr Horrible news. The only good news is that it was BELOW the knee. With the prosthetics out there today, he will lead a very normal life most likely. Frankly once he gets used to it people won't even know he has a prosthetic leg when he is wearing long pants. Not saying it doesn't stink for him but much better than above the knee.
