The video is insane. I'm not sure how the officer lived.

Serious question since when does the DOJ run local police forces ?

Are you saying the DOJ hasn't stated this?

My question as I stated, why is the DOJ trying to set rules for local LE?

Clyde says the DOJ recommends police don't shoot into vehicles.

What would they suggest this officer do...pray?

I clicked on that and didn't see the vehicle ramming the officer. It started with the officer yelling "do not move" and the crazy lady standing up through the sunroof.

I don't think they set rules. I think they have recommended guidelines.

No, you are the only person I've seen mention it here. That's why I mentioned you said it.

Any idea what their guidelines would say to do here?

So here's the link I found that showed the impact. WOW!

I do not think the guidelines I referenced in the other thread would apply here. They seemed to be talking about shooting into fleeing vehicles.

This is NUTS.

Do you think I made it up?

Shouldn't local officials be setting guidelines for their police force? What if DOJ guidelines conflict with local guidelines .

We are getting off topic. Just seems weird.

Local officials are indeed setting policy. DOJ gives recommendations. Local police can follow or not follow.
