November 5, 201510 yr Did Kim Davis impact 1 vote other than her own in the governor's race? It seemed that the overall SCOTUS ruling, further highlighted by Kim Davis, put the Conway campaign in tough box. It seemed mainly a no-win situation for the campaign. Instructions to the clerks issued before the ruling, long ago, under Conway's own letterhead indicated how to follow the overturned Kentucky statutes. Those instructions were never updated and re-issued after the ruling. The lack of stance by Conway after the ruling, either in his own personal view or in actions as the sitting AG, may have made him seem weak and contributed to the poor showing at the polls. I do believe NR, a conservative/right wing function, overplays the importance of the 'Kim Davis issue'. Ignoring the SCOTUS ruling and associated ruckus caused Ms. Davis, Conway had a lot of detractors whose stance had nothing to do with the same-sex issue.
