thsrocks
Trinity led 21-7 into the fourth quarter and turned the ball over twice leading to two Moeller touchdowns. When regulation expired, Trinity was preparing for overtime when the Crusaders informed the Rocks their would be no overtime today! This information came by phone from a person in attendance at Moeller. The Rocks JV squad finished 2015 with a 6-0-1 record. This information came by phone from a person in attendance at Moeller. The Rocks JV squad finished 2015 with a 6-0-1 record. Correct on all accounts. I was there, and it was a pair of fumbled snaps both of which Moeller recovered that cost Trinity the win. Still, both teams played great. Moeller's defense was impressive and the Trinity offense had a hard time sustaining drives. Fortunately the Trinity defense gave them short fields multiple times, including an interception that was almost a pick six. The player who snagged it (didn't catch his number) made it some 60+ yards before he was chased down and tackled near the Moeller ten. Funnily enough, I was walking out of the stadium and happened to be close to the Moeller players. Two of them were complaining about the 'no overtime' rule and mentioned that the ref had only told them about it five minutes ago. Chuckle, those boys were still ready to play. ShamrockChamps
Tie?!! Why even play?! I've always hated ties, just dumb unless there are playoffs which of course there aren't at this level, let the kids play on!
thsrocks
Found out today that Moeller hosts youth games and it was decided those games could not be pushed back for JV overtime. If Moeller could have explained this new situation prior to the game, the Rocks would not have punted from midfield late in regulation.

If Moeller could have explained this new situation prior to the game, the Rocks would not have punted from midfield late in regulation. That would explain all of the Middle-schoolers warming up on the nearby soccer field. I don't think Moeller knew that the refs wouldn't be willing to push back the start time of those games though, just based on what I overheard from those Moeller players. Old-School-Football
Congratulations on a great season JV Rocks. Very similar to the JV results a few years ago - and that group followed up with a State Championship over Dixie the next season. Icing on the cake for this group - most of them played significant minutes on the Varsity level because of the blow out wins. Also, welcome aboard to the Freshman Rocks that were promoted this week. Opportunity of a lifetime getting to be around Coach B (and staff) and the Seniors for practice and a post season run. Big group of Seniors this year made the jump 3 years ago and even played a few reps in Championship game win over PRP. Taking that first step to climb the mountain today/this week. One step at a time. Like the BIG GUY says...don't look down off that mountain, don't look up - keep looking straight ahead!! Good luck Rocks!
