October 26, 201510 yr Author He's started trusting his quarterback. That's it in a nutshell. Had he trusted Quinton Flowers against Memphis, I truly believe, the Tigers would have had 1 loss going into the Ole Miss game. I was seriously doubting Willie after that one. When Quinton can pass, it opens up his running game and gives defenses another thing to think about. Memphis didn't have to worry about that. They kept putting 8 & 9 in the box and Taggart wouldn't let Flowers pass. Next game, Coach took the reigns off and the Bulls destroyed Syracuse, somebody LSU had trouble with. They've won their last 3 and are now 4-3 on the season, 2-1 in conference. The defense has had one anomaly, the Maryland game. Other than that, they've been pretty solid. The SMU game should have been much more lopsided. Chris Barr dropped 2 passes where he was wide open and Flowers hit him perfectly in stride. Both would have resulted in TDs. There were several dropped passes by other receivers that the staff needs to fix. Can the Bulls become bowl eligible? I don't know, but I hope so. This weekend will be telling, as they head up to Annapolis to take on Navy. Marlon Mack (115 yard/gm), who is suffering from a hammy strain and was held out of the SMU game, will be back. I think the Bulls can score on the Midshipmen. What I don't know is how Allen's 4-2-5 will handle the triple option.
