This year seems more wide open in the 11th as far as top players are concerned. I'm not sure Morris is best player on Catholic or King is best on LCA. Not to mention, there are a few players on teams not listed in top 10 who could be on list. Really seems tough to pin down who is best this year.

As for teams, it's Dunbars to lose.

Ur definitely right @burberry I've seen these kids last year at Lafayette. When they beat Powerhouse Trinity with Ray Spaulding and a cast of others. I've seen Jaelin Jenkins Lafayette's PG over the summer playing with ESBA ELITE (Formerly D1Greyhounds Huntington,W.Va) at the Silver Super Showcase Championship game. This kid was good last year but over the summer has made a GIANT step along with Jajuante Carpenter (Charlotte Court) mix in the Harrison Lane and the man in the middle Ross Jenkins. This group will be "Special" and hard to beat Feb/March. I believe Lafayette and Dunbar split last year with Lafayette making it further than Dunbar. Lafayette brings back all starters but 1. Dunbar looks to do the same I think its a toss up between Lafayette and Dunbar. I'm going with Lafayette in Feb/March

Lafayette and Dunbar did split last year but the game Dunbar lost was early when Dunbar was without all but one starter. Lafayette is obviously good but outside of Ross Jenkins they are really made up of role players. No "go to" guy when really need a bucket.

Role players or not. As a team they look really good. Im sure Coach Mendenhall will have Lafayette prepared by Feb/Mar. The season is just around the corner the 11th will be a gauntlet to say the least. I look forward to following both teams as well as Henry Clay and Bryan Station.

The 11th might be tougher this season then last and that is saying a lot. Every night will provide some great games. All the Lexington schools will have battles all season long and I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of splits between teams in the regular season. Add in Madison Central, Madison Southern returns everyone from an overtime loss to Central in the district tournament last season, a young but talented Scott County team, an always well coached Woodford County bunch, and a talented but under the radar Frankfort team and you have the makings of a fun season in the 11th.

Like always though the 43rd district will feature 4 teams with a chance to legitimately win the region and 2 of them will not make the region tournament. Not fair really but just the way it is.

I believe Lafayette will miss Lucky Jackson more than people realize. He was an X factor...on the glass and their best defender.

I appreciate the job Hundley has done at Woodford and Barton at Frankfort, but I am not sure why they would be brought in the conversation more than Model, Sayre, Tates Creek, Franklin Co or Western Hills. Model has steadily improved and returns a couple of nice players, and Coach Scarsbury is very good. Sayre has been good the last 2 years and returns a lot and is very well coached. Tates Creek will compete with any of them. Western Hills appears to be competitive and Tony Wise and Franklin Co won the district last year. Coach Jackson at Berea has done a great job with what he has to work with.

I guess my point is, there are several good teams in the 11th. Some of which, never get recognized for being in the 11th with some of best teams in state. I think there is a clear top tier, but others are very good teams. Put Model in anther region and your looking at a top 10 team easily. You could say that about several of these teams.
