SandyKitchen(Villa), Jen Woolf(former Conner), Roger Sanders(Calvary) and Jodi Schmidt(Ludlow) will coach and divide the players evenly. They'll try to get the best, most evenly matched games as possible.

 

Coach involvement is the key to the success of this and other events....not all coaches step up to the plate....seems like the same coaches helping out every time??

Other coaches help out but in unseen ways. Someone is in charge of refreshments, awards, t-shirts, etc

 

Just because a coach isn't on the sideline doesn't mean they aren't helping out in some way.

I know ALL who are helping out...there is one for t-shirts, one bought awards, one bought snacks and drinks, one coach that coordinated all and then the 4 previously named coaches...and, beleive me, it IS the SAME people EVERYTIME!!!

That leaves at least 13-16 HS teams left unrepresented and by a coach.

Of those 13-16 HS teams, I will bet next to NONE of the coaches will even attend the event. ( I HOPE I am wrong, but history tells me otherwise!)

Volleyball All-Star game is always the 1st Wednesday in May. Coaches compile 2 seniors from all teams to particpate in an All-Star game.

They practice from 5-6, rest and eat a snack, then play the game at 7:00

probably a 2-3 match or something like that.

I do not know if it is advertised anywhere, but coaches usually spread the word on the game.

 

I think football is Thursday at Beechwood. I do not know about the other sports.

First week of June used to be Senior All Star Week. Over the last few years, it has gotten less attention. Mostly football gets widely covered. Sometimes volleyball gets a little attention.

There is also a slow pitch softball all star game Thursday June 8th at Huddy Park.

That's a real dagger to the girls. Prolly Hock and Berke from NDA if they were in. Hock got a ride to Gtown for volleyball.
