to clean your computer, you'll need to download and run this free scanner, Trend Micro HouseCall. This will check for and try to remove malware.

I did try to do it but it had ran for 2 hours . Nothing was happening , should i let it run all day ?

I have to imagine it's a scam.

It only shows up when you go to facebook? That would be a red flag right there for me.

yes , and its a hard stop , I cant skip it and continue to FB . Further leading me to believe its a scam . But I dont know how to make it go away .

You probably shouldn't have downloaded the link. More than likely, you had somehow picked up some malware from some site. As a rule, I don't click on any recommended downloads to clean or fix my computer. It's a common ploy to scare you into downloading their stuff. Some Even hold your computer hostage until you pay a licensing fee, known as ransom wear. If you've got anti virus software, I'd run a scan. You may even be able to use system restore to return to an earlier backup before you got hit with the bug.

I recommend if you have not stopped the programs do a hard shutdown of your computer. Boot up in Safe Mode, and then run your normal Malware / Anti Virus to clean the machine. MalwareBytes works good for me.

You could also try to restore to previous Restore Point and then clean the machine

My local computer guy was available and came by , he had lots of trouble fixing the issue . To offer some more info I could log on to FB on another computer , but not the one in my office . I could log on in my office if I used another browser instead of my normal firefox . But he could log on to FB in my office using his email and password . After a couple hours he got me unlocked . Stupid computers !
