Trinity 42 Covington Catholic 0 (JV)

Featured Replies

Trinity showed a balance offensive attack versus the Blue Colonels yesterday. Jr Spencer Blackburn is proving he will be ready to take the QB reigns from Jake Woosley next season.

Santana Jones played well at RB as did Baron Hoffman at WR. Kicker Zach Williams was 6/6 on PATs and his kickoffs improved as the game went on.

There are 6 sophomores out with injuries for Trinity. Cody Auxier (DL) and Nick Cardosi(LB) are among those projected to contribute to varsity next season.

Way to go Shamrocks! Another big win for the JV guys. Starting to look and sound like the undefeated JV team from 2 years ago with Ryan Young at the QB position. Bunch of guys ready for Friday nights and people around the city will soon learn all the names. Like what I'm seeing.

Can't wait to see Cardosi in live varsity action next year. Would have made varsity contributions this year - wishing him a speedy/healthy recovery.

It's a big step up from 4A/5A to 6A Football.

Congrats to Trinity on thumping my Colonels.

Just curious, is Trinity's JV team an entirely separate roster from their varsity? I've heard some folks say it is, and others who have said it isn't.

I wouldn't call it a separate roster as many of them dress on Friday nights. Majority simply don't get the reps they need to stay in the 2 deep or 3 deep rotation (although more than capable of making significant contributions). It really is a strong JV group this year. I'll admit that most of them have seen significant time/minutes in the JTOWN, Lafayette, PRP, Brentwood games. Lot of varsity action on top of the undefeated JV games!! Good stuff in my book.

Thanks for clearing that up. I thought that was the case, but then I had someone tell me last night that the JV team was its own roster, and that they didn't dress at all on Fridays. I know there are a few of the big GCL schools in Cincinnati that do things that way, but I hadn't ever heard that about Trinity's JV team.
