The reason it is the way it is comes from the first season after expanding from 16 to 32 teams. We had a couple of teams that didn't show up (submit a roster) and teams were getting real cheap wins. One team got two or three of these cheap wins and made the playoffs, possibly knocking out a team with litigate wins.
October 5, 201510 yr I'm kind of on the other side. If your opponent doesn't turn in a lineup, you get the win. Here's why I'm leaning that way...It's quite possible you could have 2 teams taking a loss for the same game. That just doesn't seem right to me. I'm sure it is/would be rare, but could happen. The owner who turned in his lineup shouldn't be punished if his team lays an egg that week. I see both sides. Maybe instead of beating the other teams previous lineup, you have to beat the league scoring average. Just something I would like to discuss further after the season is over. Wouldn't the best possible scenario be that the no-lineup team starts the best projected lineup so that nobody gets a freebie win?
