The suspended game picked up in the top of the fifth with St. Henry at the plate with runners at first & third, 2 outs and down 2-1. Hatfield on the hill for the Raiders picked of the base runner at first to end the Crusader threat.

In the sixth, St. Henry got 2 runners aboard and Nick Ryan hit a sharp one hopper that got over Humps glove scoring 2 and giving the Crusaders a 3-2 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth the Raiders got 2 runners on when the Crusaders brought Shanks to the hill to pitch to the top of the lineup. After working the count full, Garrett Wagner tripled to the right center gap giving the Raiders a 4-2 lead. Wagner scored the final run on a wild pitch and Hatfield closed the door on the Crusaders hopes in the 7th.

Walt Terrel has brought the Crusaders up a notch and whoever draws them in the Regionals will have a battle on their hands.

WP Hatfield / LP Shanks

Congrats to the Ryle All Tournament Players:

Vince Murray - Ryan Hughes - and MVP Garrett Wagner

Congrats to the entire 06 Raiders Team, Coach Roesel & Nally for tying a school record of 25 wins.

Prediction: CCH/Ryle first round next week.

That would be a good one. But this time of year, they should all be good ones.

Very nice game and great effort by both teams. Both have peaked at the right time. Ultra clutch triple by Garrett Wagner to win the game. Good job by Jeff Hatfield to earn the victory.

Congrats to Jerrod Babik on winning the Travis Alig & Raider Scholarships,

didn't know if the Raider fans knew this yet.

Prediction: CCH/Ryle first round next week.

Call it the Colonels getting lucky, call it the Colonels getting a break, but I look for the following as the CovCath teams have had a hard way for far to long in the 9th Region.

Beechwood vs St. Henry

NCC vs Llyod

Ryle vs Highlands

VMA vs CovCath

It's a little hard to feel sorry for a team ranked second with the third best record.

Does this mean NCC beat Highlands? There is no score on the KHSAA.

The actual score was 5-3.

umpiring for this game was a complete joke, in my own opinion wagner should have been out twice during his at bat two pitches that the catcher didnt even move his glove were called balls then 3-2 you have to lay one in there.. funny though that the very next inning the first pitch almost bounces but is called a striek in favor of ryle

First of all, the pitch before the triple was fouled off..so you want the ump to call a foul a strike out? Secondly, Wagner has one of the best eyes for balls and strikes and will not take a called third strike. You had seven at bats, the Raiders had their six so....bye bye.

fouled off......haha what game game were you watching wagner didnt make contact tillt he triple count went 1-0 then shanks through a strike next pitch was a curve right down the pipe called a ball, 2-1 next pitch wagner swung and missed 2-2 next pitch was a fastball belt high down the middle ball,3-2 and then he hit the triple... and not only that but wagner wouldnt have strike dout looking had the curveball that the catcher didnt even move his glove on was called a strike he would have been out on the next pitch swinging

Prediction: CCH/Ryle first round next week.

Ouch...that would be a bad draw for both teams, would make the 9th very interesting though.
