Holy Cross 2 Conner 1

Featured Replies

Final from Hebron.

Conner needs to see the field better and connect on passes.

Surprised at this score, rumor I heard Connor was the favorite to win the 33rd District?

And Connor needs to connect some passes? Many people on here have mentioned how their only style of play is very direct and over the top. Sounds like more running on to the ball then connecting passes.

Have not seen Conner play, but Holy Cross is very strong defensively.

Is that due to the way they play (ex.packing it in) or just good defenders. I have not seen any mention of specific players and don't believe that they had any players recognized by the coaches at the end of last year.

Give me a strong, no named defense that plays together, stay connected and communicates any day over 1 superstar in the back anyday.

I just looked, Enzweiler was.

I am not aware of what he is playing this year, could have switched positions.

Last year he was part of the NKAC Team, as a Defender.

Not a good game for Conner, they looked unorganized and played sloppy. Maybe just a bad night, it happens. I think Thursdays game at Cooper will say alot on how the rest of the season will go.

Holy cross's coaching staff has got the guys playing good soccer. Year in and out everyone dismisses them and forgets that they have had some very good teams in the past (glory days). The staff that Dave has now is probably the right fit for the kids they have, some times coaching just isn't teaching the game. Some times it about having a connection with those players and getting them to believe in your system and getting them to play for one another. I believe this is what's going onat HC this year and kudos to them for figuring it out.

Word.

I agree. Have only seen them play one game and they did work well together. One thing that did surprise me was how much they slide to play the ball. I was always taught that sliding was a desperation play. Granted, it does have it's place at times. It also helps that they have some speed back there along with a kid that wins everything in the air.

Just goes to show how strong Region 9 really is. ;)

I just wish that we could put together a "Top Ten List" to compete with the one from the 11th Region. I am afraid that no matter who we might decide belongs on it they will always be 20% better than us.
