Harrison County 12 Pendleton County 0

Harrison County wins the 38th District with ease in 5 innings. The Breds improve to 24-5. The Wildcats fall to 6-29. But both teams will advance to the 10th Region Tourney in Campbell County. The Breds win their 23rd district title in 26 years, and Coach Murph Howard has his team advance to the regional tournament for the 3rd time in his 3 years in Falmouth. In the game, Van Issac, J.D. Ashbrook, and James Custard hit homers with James hitting 2.

If they can't advance in that district maybe they should drop the sport.

The past 2 years were in the District with Campbell and Brossart. I don't think either of them (Campbell or Brossart) have made it to the Region the last 3 years.

Campbell nor Brossart has made it 3 years in row like Pendleton County under Coach Howard! Until they can do that, you shouldn't knock Pendleton County....

Hey now, it wasn't me...

Not knocking the Wildcats, only the competition they had the opportunity to play in the district. You have to agree the new 38th is not on a par with the 37th as far as talent. The 39th is just as weak under the new alignment. Wouldn't you agree Striker? Congrats to the Stangs by the way on their ending the District title drought since 99'.

10th Region should have some very interesting matchups. As far as exciting baseball it don't get any better than tournament time. I will be out of town until Sunday evening so please post the schedule when you get it.

Hilltopper, even being a Harrison fan, you gotta admit that the 37th is a much, much tougher district than the 38th. Also, the reason PC made it the last couple years is because CCHS and Brossart had to play in the first round of districts which knocked the Mustangs out back to back, and left PC to deal with the Grove or Bracken.

Did I say I was a Harrison fan? And yes, I do agree that the 38th is very weak this year. I just think for the talent he has, Coach Howard has not done a bad job at all. I don't know of very many teams who put themselves through such a tough schedule as Coach Howrd put his Wildcats through. Coach Howard is a pleasure to watch and he seems to really enjoy what he is doing.

I just fassumed with the Hilltopper name and you usually post their game score... Sorry if I offended you, and I agree that Pendelton's coach does a very good job

Makes you wonder if Harrison would have won 20 with the same schedule as Pendleton doesnt' it.

I am Harrison County through and through. I have advanced to different colors now though, but will always be a Harrison County baseball fan. I still think that despite the weak schedule that Coach Whitaker has done one heckuva job with his team this year. They have played 4 straight very solid games at just the right time. 24-5 no matter who you play is a pretty good season.

There is no doubt Harrison has got a good ballclub this year, but I think if they would have played the level of competition that the Cats played, they would not have had 20 wins. In his three years in Falmouth, Coach Murph Howard has not had the best regular season records, but because of the difficult schedule he plays, his teams always play there best baseball in the postseason. For instance, this year in the final week of the season, PC played Boone County, and at Henry Clay and Mercer County, the latter two being top 20 teams. I think PC is a sleeper pick to get a upset or two in the region tourney if they get the right draw.
