Garrard County begins year number two under Jerry Perry and hopes to moved beyond last year's second round playoff exit, but will have to do it in a heavyweight 3A region consisting of Boyle County, Central, Lexington Catholic, and Bardstown. The Lions open the season with 4A Shelby County. The Rockets drop from 5A where they finished 3-8 in 2014, bowing to Iroquois in the first round of the playoffs.

This will be the third matchup all-time between the two schools, but first since 1996, which was also the last year of Perry's first tenure at Garrard County.

1995 - Garrard County 21, @ Shelby County 13

1996 - Shelby County 13, @ Garrard County 8

Haven't heard or seen anything about Shelby Co, but I know that they will be athletic in every position I would assume. Should be a fun one. Can't wait to be at Dyehouse Stadium!

I am hearing from a lot of panicked GC fans... Shelby struggled last year, but is probably big and athletic. Hard to peg this one.

Anyone know anything about Shelby? Who did they scrimmage?

gchs_uk9 - you are the most knowledgeable Garrard fan on here - what do you think?

Shelby will come out with the Triple Option. Has a good group of young kids with some good athletes.
