FLYGUY Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Franklin County won both days of the tourney, who else looked good I only got to see them the last few games vs a speedy Frankfort, Collins, and South Oldham
CoachJ Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 We finished second to them in the Friday night tourney and they were by far the best of this kind of football I saw that night. But I must also say I was very impressed with the way HENRY COUNTY played -- not known as an 'air-raid' type team typically with their current coach I don't think, but just played sound, hard-nosed, and fundamentally sound. And no whoopin' or hollerin' or showboat kind of stuff either despite winning their first 5 games in a row.
RickGrimes Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Heard Bullitt East struggled. Not that its any indication of Friday nights but I guess they arent going to take advantage of their John Hardin-less new region.
FootballBobcat Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 South Oldham's only losses at the Saturday tourney were to Franklin Co. This is going to be a young team that kept getting better as the day moved on. Interesting words from CoachJ about Henry Co. South Oldham has to travel to Henry Co for their scrimmage in a few weeks. Sounds like it could be a good game.

Not that its any indication of Friday nights but I guess they arent going to take advantage of their John Hardin-less new region. I don't know -- I would just caution anyone from thinking this type of "football" relates to what you're going to see on a field with linebackers not dropping into coverage on the snap of the ball, run-action passes, and the ability to control the game by running the ball. BE has a VERY good coach. I'm sure he's not really concerned about "winning" at a 7on7 competition. My guess BE uses these to work on their pass defense and expose things that need to be corrected vs. teams that choose to throw most of the time.
RickGrimes Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 And as I said I realize its not necessarily an indication of Friday nights. However I had heard from a coaching friend that they played very poorly and I knew they lost a lot the last 2 seasons. I know that new 5A region without John Hardin is wide open, just wondering who is showing in the summer they might be ready to fill that void.
FLYGUY Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 This stuff is not an indication of your season but it is a competition, which good teams will show up and execute with some success.
FootballBobcat Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Andrew Zaubi play for South? South Oldham used two QB's alternating series between the them. Zaubi was one of them. They both seemed to have a pretty good day. Believe the coach loves having a QB competition to bring out the best in both of them and move the team forward.

gamebreaker Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 How did Bryan station look? They are breaking in a new receiving unit
FLYGUY Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Looked good on Friday they played decent and then sat varsity in the third game. They didn't look as good as they did at UK.
