"Your" Top 5 starting pitchers in NKY in 2016?

Recommended Posts

This Forum needs some chatter, so..........

With the loss of 6 year varsity starters Haylee Smith (Ryle/Notre Dame) and Elizabeth Sims (Conner), as well as, Courtney Garrett (Dixie), Karlie Shackelford (Bishop Brossart), Mallory McGrath (Campbell Co.), & Jordan Kramer (St. Henry).....NKY teams lost some valuable arms this year to graduation. Smith and Sims, were arguably the two best the past 4-5 years, but the others mentioned were pretty good as well. Also, some of the teams outside the weekly Top 10 also lost starting pitchers with multiple years in the circle...Rachel Zalla (Cov. Latin), Taylor Brashear (Holmes), & Casey Grant (Beechwood).

So, who are your Top 5 starting pitchers for the 2016 campaign?

My Top 5 (alphabetically)

Katelyn Baker (Notre Dame)

Olivia Jackson (Boone Co.)

Haley Meyers (Newport Catholic)

Megan Seiter (Brossart)

Bailey Spencer (Highlands)

and from just what I saw, Kennady Carson (Ryle) didn't do a bad job either.

The Top 3 (without question) bolded.

I agree with fastpitch98 about Walsh and Liecht. I only know of Walsh pitching one varsity game, which I saw against Ryle. Walsh also pitched some JV, but it seemed like Liecht pitched the most JV games. I'm not sure if Liecht ever pitched a varsity game. Both did play varsity, so hopefully with this upcoming year with little varsity pitching experience they'll do well. I know Walsh plays travel ball, not sure about Liecht, which will help tremendously come game time. Outside of that, Olivia Jackson definitely stands out the one game I saw her pitch. Olivia could throw the heat and she's got three years left.

I have no idea on rating pitchers. However, I am extremely excited to see where my favorite pitcher Olivia Henry falls into the rankings next season.

Girl will not blow people away with power but she really knows how to pitch.

I'm looking forward to the next 4 seasons for her.
