June 21, 201511 yr But that's not the craziest part of the deal. The Diamondbacks also traded their #5 prospect Touki Toussaint to the Braves for a reserve infielder named Phil Gosselin. The Dbacks did dump almost 10 million dollars but traded one of their best prospects for absolutely nothing. Another reaction to this trade: @JimcallisMLB: Touki Toussaint giveaway by @Dbacks to @Braves to dump $9.5 mil of Bronson Arroyo's salary is the most inexplicable trade I have ever seen.

I posted it in the Braves thread because I didn't think it would get much attention. Crazy trade...
June 21, 201511 yr The Braves bought a top prospect. I read the Dbacks recently signed a billion dollar TV deal so the timing is odd. I wonder if Arroyo Erik ever even suit up for the Braves.
June 21, 201511 yr Yeah the Braves bought one of the Diamondbacks top prospects but couldn't the acquisition of Arroyo make a differrnce down the stretch as well. It's no guarantee that he'll be able to pitch but I've heard August he should begin rehabbing. For a team that is still hanging around the wildcard race a healthy Bronson in September could make for a nice boost to the Braves rotation. I know the basis of the deal was the Braves acquisition of Toussaint and the Diamondbacks clearing money but Bronson isn't a total wash in the deal and there's a chance he could be a difference maker down the stretch especially on a team that lacks veteran starters if they were to make the playoffs.
