Pulaski County 2015

Featured Replies

What does Pulaski County need to do to improve in 2015? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Maroons will be loaded.

Possibly the early leader for Mr. Football, an elite receiver in Johnson, and one of the state's more versatile two way players in Gregory.

Barring injury Pulaski has to be the favorite to challenge Highlands in the new look class.

What I will say as a critique, and I may catch grief, is I am not quite sure Pulaski County is the juggernaut they were made out to be last year. I am of the belief that 5A was the weakest class outside of a Bowling Green team who just felt the upset bug against Graves. Southwestern may very well have been the 4A State Champion (they defeated Pulaksi without Hall) had they not lost their best player Edwards early on in the rematch.

I think the gap between the best teams in 4A and Pulaski was actually a quite significant and had Pulaski been in 4A East I am not sure they would have been but the 5th or 6th best team (I liked Highlands, CCath, Johnson Central, and LexCath all better and think Boyle and Pulaski were very close)

Here is the Pulaski Schedule:

21-Aug 6:00 PM Jeffersonville (Indiana) SWHS

*Don Marshall Bowl

28-Aug 7:30 PM Scott County Cardinals Georgetown College

4-Sep OPEN

11-Sep 8:00 PM Russell County Lakers PC Stadium

*PC Youth League Night

18-Sep 7:30 PM Rockcastle County Rockets Mt. Vernon

25-Sep 7:30 PM Madison Southern Eagles PC Stadium

*Nothern Maroons Night

2-Oct 7:30 PM Henry Clay Blue Devils PC Stadium

*Alumni Night

9-Oct 7:30 PM # Lincoln County Patriots Stanford

16-Oct 7:30 PM # South Laurel Cardinals PC Stadium

*Homecoming

23-Oct 7:30 PM # Southwestern Warriors PC Stadium

*Senior Night

30-Oct 7:30 PM Bourbon County Colonels Bourbon

This senior class has had a great deal of success and is the core that led the program to it's first finals appearance and it's first state title the following year,

I believe they have another run in them and granted will face tough competition in Southwestern and in the semi finals against Highlands/Cov Cath.

Key games on the schedule for me are Scott County, Henry Clay, Southwestern and Bourbon County. I don't know much about the Jeffersonville Indiana team, could be another good game.

I live in Jeffersonville, and as a former Maroon player, I can't wait to come down to Somerset to watch this game. Jeff is the largest school in what is considered metro Louisville. They only lost twice last year. They will be very athletic, and fast. They put up a ton of points last year. They were a junior dominated squad last year, so they will have a lot of pieces back. I'm hoping Pulaski as always wins. But it would not shock me to see the Red Devils roll in, and take the win. It will be a tough opener.

It will be very tough to repeat. Highlands is a powerhouse program and Covington Catholic as well.
