Cinncinnati/NKY looks like we may do it again on Monday. Especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Those in these areas are again in the marginal risk area for widely scattered strong to severe thunderstorms.

As of now the main threats look to be torrential rain, damaging winds and hail.

Really no change in the outlook for Monday.

 

 

There seems to be more of a chance to see more organized strong to severe thunderstorms on Tuesday. Cincinnati/NKY are in the slight risk area while the marginal risk area is move down southward to about the I-64 corridor.

The stormy pattern looks to rev up Wednesday through Friday. That is when it seems we have the best chance for more showers and storms. Here are so rainfall outlook maps for the upcoming week.

Monday morning update:

 

Look for scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Especially in north central Kentucky. Torrential downpours gusty winds and frequent lightning should occur. We will be looking at this type of weather for the rest of the week just about every afternoon. The best bet for more frequent thunderstorms should be Thursday-Saturday.

 

I'll update on the timing of these storms later.

FYI, I'm paying attention to the Gulf of Mexico. There maybe a tropical storm developing. The reason I'm watching it is because the tropical moisture could reach our area around Thursday.

 

Outlooks are showing 2-3+" of rain for those along the Ohio River. This is through Friday.

 

If the storm takes a more southerly track we could see 3-5" of rain in Kentucky

Mid morning update:

 

It seems that starting around noon the thunderstorm outlook shows Cincinnati/NKY/NEKY have a 40% chance of thunderstorms.

This threat continues from 4 pm to 8 pm for the same areas:

 

 

After 8 pm the threat seems to diminish enough that only extreme NKY and the Cincinnati are are included.

 

Those in the 40% chance area are also in a marginal risk area for severe storms. Any of these storms that develop could put down torrential rain, hail, high winds and frequent lighting strikes.

This is the the tropical disturbance that may bring us all the heavy rain later in the week. It has an 80% chance of becoming a tropical storm by the weekend.

They are expecting through Thursday 7"+ of rain in east Texas from the gulf coast up into eastern Oklahoma.

I just checked the 7 day total precipitation forecast. If it holds true parts of central and southern Ohio are look at 7" of rain through next Monday.
