BTW he coached baseball there for 17 yrs. Coached four at GC and took them to state title game.

If you call the team that played at the fairgrounds Elite then I must hold a different definition. They do have three kids on Greenup's team that didn't grow up there which help tremendously. None of our philosophical difference on this point matter. Greenup works to develop players and this was a weakness at Ashland.

 

Ashland does have a middle school team now, and perhaps that will help the devolpment of these kids. John Vincent is the coach. John coached LL for years. He knows the game, and is great at teaching fundamentals and developing talent. The LL needs a compete overhaul though. I highly doubt if the powers to be would be willing to let the high school coach oversee the two leagues.

GC has benefitted by getting 2-3 really good transfers, but you cannot deny how great a job the Logans have done with that program.

I agree with the Logan accolades. His players get better and he is a competitor.

I am not bashing coach Wilcox but simple fact is he has always been very disconnected from his feeder programs and that doesn't help you win games or support long term. With that his record last 5 years alone deserved him at least another year
